A TV-Bike displays information on behalf NHS NHS

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust created four hard-hitting videos as part of their “Prevent Infection, Protect Everyone” campaign to raise awareness amongst the public of healthcare associated infections – infections patients develop while in hospital or another health setting.

Objective
To help reduce the number of healthcare associated infections Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust wanted to take their campaign and their videos outside of the hospital environment, targeting and informing members of the general public.

Through the videos the team wanted to make the public aware of the germs they carry, the impact that this can have on patients and when it’s safe to visit relatives in hospital. As Media Displays digi-bikes have dual video displays with audio, they provided the perfect medium for targeting the intended audience and raising awareness through the campaign videos.

Target
On the 25th April, the team used one of our digi-bikes to target members of the public who were passing through Victoria Gardens, a civic space located in front of Leeds Art Gallery and the Henry Moore Institute between 10am and 6pm. Our TV bikes are city friendly and can operate in public areas where motorised vehicle restrictions apply, making it the ideal marketing tool to target passers-by in this area.

Results
Clare Ashby, Infection Prevention and Control Matron at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust comments “The AV bike worked really well for our recent hand hygiene campaign in Leeds city centre. We had some hard hitting videos about the consequences of not washing your hands; using the AV bike meant that we were able to show these videos to members of the public in the city centre. The AV bike was a great way of drawing attention." The campaign received good coverage from media on the day and the team had approximately 800 contacts with members of the public.
